Give each mercenary band a profile and their success and losses, their leaders, and their rank. The better the mercenary band, the more expensive it is to hire and keep them. Also make it so players can choose to be mercenary and have a family. I don't see myself as a lord, i'm a peasant in real life and wanna build a band of commoners. Exclude mercenary bands from recruiting nobles. I wanna Mercenary contracts are calculated depending on your influence, so the more that you have the more gold you earn and influence you consume. Seeing that you are in negative influence (I suppose you attacked someone you were at peace with and forced war between them and your faction) it costs you money and gives you influence until you get back to positive

Not that i have seen. If you can catch the caravan or other party, you can talk to them and change out troops at the least. Cant remember if you can check their inventory though. If i cant catch my caravans, i usually wait till they get captured and escape, to change out their gear, but im playing with mods like bannerking, so yeah.

The only way i found to have them in my kingdom is for them to get swallowed by one of the main factions. As a minor faction, I never had any dialogue to hire them. Custom Mercenaries.
